I'm selling my barely used Speedway Uma 29" x 50mm wide wheelset that I bought before Surly Rabbit Holes came out. The wheelset was made by Mike at Lacemine29 and i used it on snow a handful of times, so they're true as new. The only scratch is the anodization on the disc side of... Continue Reading →
Cross ride through the burn
A big storm is headed our way finally so I headed out to get as high as I could on FH road as well as explore a couple new roads I've been meaning to for awhile. The only cars I saw was the Placer County road crew cleaning the road of rockfall and dirt that... Continue Reading →
My “road” bike
Ok, its an "all-types-of-road bike" really - for all the riding I do on different types of roads around here plus some trail. So many new names for this type of bike that it's kinda silly. Reinventing what's already been done, again. Talk to Bruce Gordon, this style of bike's been around for decades. Tom... Continue Reading →
Fatbiking Tahoe: Spring in February
I visited Truckee this weekend and got two rides in on the e-stay fatbike. It's only 1.5 hours max there from my house, i need to get up there more often. With around 1/3rd the snowpack of average, it's been a bad year to ski. But I attempted to go classic skiing at Royal Gorge.... Continue Reading →
Slop
I set a wildlife camera up at the last place I saw a lost dog to see if I could capture a photo of her. It's been over 2 weeks since she took off from her dad's campsite at Mumford Bar (this is not my dog). He's been up there a lot but hasn't found... Continue Reading →
eFat is a go
I have lots more where these came from but I thought I'd spare you the mediocre pictures of my new fatbike in various hazy gray locations yesterday afternoon before the storm rolled in. (I know how sometimes the "bike resting against a tree" photos can get old. But not for me! heh heh.) Oh, and... Continue Reading →
A visit to the coast
The Missus and I and our 4 dogs I headed down to Santa Cruz for a few days to visit friends, see family, and kick back. I got out on a few rides, the FIRST outside ride since November 17th was on the beach on my 29+ bike. My knee's tendonitis is feeling better, I... Continue Reading →
Deadwood snow report
I got out on my first ride around here since mid-November and rode my new cross bike to test it out. The difference in snowpack is just astounding. The first set is December, 2012 and January 2013. Today is at the bottom...this is what 12% of average looks like I guess.
