Some photos of Power’s new cross bike. It’s going to be her training, ‘credit-card’ touring bike, and general all-rounder to ride into the ground when she’s not racing. She wanted to run mustache bars so i shortened the top tube a bit to account for the increased reach of those bars. Pretty standard geometry for what I like but with a bit lower BB (65mm BB drop). She will ride trail with this in the Rockies so i didn’t want to make it too low. Other than that it’s got 72/73 angles, 610 front center, a 6 degree sloped top tube, 424mm chainstays. It fits 40’s but may need 35’s in conjunction with fenders.
It’s really an old school cross build. Cantilever brakes only, no room for a tapered steerer, and a lugged crown fork. I used True Temper OX Platnium for the front triangle (8/5/8 both top and down tubes), Dedacaai s-bendy chainstays, True Temper 16mm x 0.7 seastays with custom s-bends, Paragon dropouts. I added stainless fender eyelets to front and rear of the bike so she can run fenders. Frame weight 4.2lbs, fork weight 2lbs with uncut steerer. Hope you like it!
Good work Whit. Nice aesthetic all the way round. But I especially like the rear dropouts, very refreshing. And committed.
