I’ve never been good at coming up with names for bike models, probably why i just stick to custom frames. Hopefully the photos are enough to tell you what this bike was built to do. Kurt works at YouBet! Bikes in Nevada City and bought this as a birthday present for himself. His last custom frame was a Bontrager when he lived in Santa Cruz so it was about time. I feel in pretty good company knowing that fact! Like the Bontrager, this is a bike he plans to use for a very long time.
Frame will fit up to a 29×2.2’s to smooth out any road and many of the mellower trails in the area. Fork is the ENVE Adventure fork with adjustable rake and triple bosses on each leg. With the Shimano GRX 2x group it’ll take the bite out of the steep climbs out of the rivers around Nevada City. It’s a commuter, tourer, dirtdrop mtb, and canal trail cruiser. It’ll fit a 100mm internal dropper post, and it’s got a Portage handle for picking it up over stuff, especially useful when there’s a full framebag in the front triangle.
The frame name refers to a certain road around these parts that this bike was made for…long dirt roads leading over various divides with serious exposure and waterfalls leading to more of the same linking old mining towns in the Sierra Foothills of California.
