This one pays tribute to the late 70’s – early 80’s BMX Torker brand bikes. This was a technical build with twin top tubes going from the headtube to the dropouts, a gusset at the head tube to add some flare and beef to the front end, a unicrown fork with off-set dropouts like the old Cook Bros forks, and nuevo style horizontal dropouts with Paragon sliders to make it a singlespeed or adjust the chainstay length and add a little tire clearance. But one new thing for me was no water bottle bosses..!
This bike is not a BMX bike but a slack and short-chainstay 29er that’ll be ridden on trails around Tahoe and the Silver State. Finishwork was done by Dark Matter Finishing and is durable powdercoat with painted decals with the Torker style font. It’ll be fun to see this one built up and ridden! Follow along on Kurstin’s adventures here and hopefully he’ll have some built up photos of it in the wild, assuming it stops raining and snowing sometime this spring. Whopper winter in Tahoe this year: over 60 feet of snow at the end of March and more on the way. (Earlier post with build shots can be found below in the blog.)

So sick!
