Flashback 5 years to a birthday fatbike ride where a bunch headed up to Truckee to spend a few days in the sun and mountains. It was a very mild winter in 2015, as the last 3 had been, so there’s not a lot of snow and temps were up in the mid-60’s. It really felt like April. I met up with some guys from the Nevada-Truckee-Gold Country-Tahoe Fatbike crew and we rode from the Tunnel Creek station to Marlette Lake and back on the Flume trail. Excellent day and a super fun ride! I find i ski a lot more when it’s a good winter and fatbike mostly when it’s not great skiing, but the combining of the two is really where the fun comes in.
